About Ginny

I am the oldest child of three children born March 1, 1944——so that makes me 66!!! I was raised in Macon, GA until age 18 then went on to graduate from Auburn University with an elementary education degree. I spent one very unhappy year teaching third grade but I did meet my husband, Brad, that year so the year was not a total loss. We’ve been happily married 43 years and have two children, Melanie and Neal, who are the joy of our lives.

Now I’m also a mother-in-law to John. I’ve been a believer in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord since age nine. Brad and I have been active members of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA since 1989 serving in different ways through the years. In 1996, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Thankfully through much prayer and the drugs being effective, I continue to live a full life. God made me a creative person so I enjoy sewing, scrapbooking, painting and all kinds of crafts. I also love reading fiction and non-fiction. Exercise is an important part of every day life too going to weekly arthritis exercises classes and fast (or slow!!) walking with Brad.

Our family prayed for several years for a small business to do together. That prayer was answered 4 years ago when Ginnys Garden Art Personally Photographed Flower Note Card business was born. Brad is my chauffeur and mentor as we travel around Orange County calling on shops. The note cards are in several shops in the area. So many of you have been wonderfully supportive of my business too. Hope you’ll took a look at the cards and book marks. That’s some about me.

I enjoy your articles and reading about you. Don’t forget, this will be our 50th reunion year coming up. I hope we have a great time when we all get together. I guess we will start planning it soon. Wish you were here to come to our “girls” class luncheons every quarter. We really enjoy each other at theses meetings.
Take good care of yourself and hope to see you when we have the 50th.

HI Nancy, thanks so much for wirting back. My husband, Brad, and I have been visiting our first grandchild for the last 17 days in WA state and got home yesterday. What a JOY that was. We are getting a late start as grandparents so God needs to keep us and the older parents young for this darling little boy!!

I will definitely keep in mind the 5oth reunion when we make plans to come to Macon next year. My mom is really a trouper at 94!! She lives out in Gray near my brother, Bill, in a nursing home. We come 3 times a year to see her.

Thank you again for letting me know you keep up with me. It so so fun to hear from old friends.

    Hi Ginny,

Enjoyed your Christmas photo. So nice to see the family together for the Holidays.

I have just polished the Christening mug you gave your godson Andy 35 years ago in Sydney and it looks great. Back then we had a fun time sharing so many Holidays and other events with each other and our young families. This Sunday Andy and Heather’s daughter Olivia will be baptized in our and their church down the street here in Riverside. Derek, Melissa, Connor (4) and Tayler (2) are coming back from visiting with the in laws in N. J. this afternoon before heading back to London. We will have a few more family dinners which we so enjoy and I’m still making your Party Chicken recipe and Pavlova.

Have a wonderful 2012 with your new Grandson!

    Love,

    Madeleine

Hi Madeleine, Thanks for writing back. Loved your family photo this year too. Your family is growing as is ours. It was wonderful to have you guys to celebrate with when we were so far from home. You will always be very special to us!! So glad you get a few more hours with your family. We had an extra day with Mel and family as their flight was cancelled and we got to have them overnite.

When I put out my Christmas decorations, I always have my beautiful Chistmas tree skirt that I actually won at the Christmas boutique the American Society had one year. As we were cleaning out closets today, I came across this “kangaroo apron” that I made for the American society to sell at something. The pocket was in the shape of a kangaroo. I made a bunch along with some othe women. I can’t make myself throw it away. Too many good memories.

Blessings on you and yours this year.

      Ginny
